DT Technology Systems, Inc. (“DT,” “we,” “us”) operates appdrop.com (“Appdrop,” “Platform,” “Services”), a community discovery platform and registry where creators, developers, and artists publish, showcase, and explore web applications, creative tools, and experimental software artifacts — referred to throughout this policy simply as “apps.” This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information on Appdrop. Our core philosophy is simple: we collect as little data as possible, keep our operations transparent, and never sell or monetize your personal information.

1. Information we collect

Because Appdrop is a platform for exploring and publishing software, we only collect information necessary to operate the service:

  • Creator and profile information. If you submit an app, register a creator profile, or claim an app page, we may collect your email address, username/handle, display name, avatar, bio, and links to your social profiles or portfolio.
  • App submission metadata. When you submit an app to the directory, we collect the public information you provide (such as app title, description, category, tags, demo URLs, and preview images).
  • Direct correspondence. If you reach out to us by email or support channels, we keep your contact details and message history solely to assist you and answer your questions.
  • Newsletter and communications. If you subscribe to our newsletter or opt in to receive updates, we use your email address to send the communications described at signup. These may include weekly updates on new apps from creators across Appdrop. We also keep subscription preferences and records of when and how you subscribed or unsubscribed. Creating an account or accepting our Terms does not, by itself, subscribe you to marketing emails.
  • Service emails. We may use your email address for necessary account, sign-in, security, and service messages, and to respond to your support requests.

2. Information we do not collect

We believe in keeping data collection to the absolute minimum:

  • We do not build advertising profiles or track your activity across third-party websites.
  • We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to advertisers, data brokers, or third parties, ever.
  • We do not collect precise real-time geolocation data.
  • We do not require general visitors to create an account merely to browse, discover, or launch public apps on Appdrop.

3. Third-party services and external apps

Appdrop relies on trusted infrastructure providers and connects to third-party services:

  • Hosting and infrastructure. Cloud hosting, content delivery networks (CDNs), and database infrastructure (such as Vercel, Cloudflare, Supabase, AWS) to ensure platform speed and uptime.
  • Authentication. If you sign in to manage apps or your profile, authentication may be facilitated through secure third-party login providers (such as GitHub, Google, or email magic links).
  • Email and newsletter delivery. We use Resend to send emails and may use Substack to manage and deliver Appdrop newsletters you subscribe to. These providers may process your email address, name if provided, subscription preferences and records, message content, and delivery information to provide those services. This includes handling delivery failures and unsubscribe requests. See Resend’s Privacy Policy and Substack’s Privacy Policy. When you use Substack, its own terms and privacy practices also apply to your use of that service. These providers may process information outside your country.
  • Lightweight analytics. We may use privacy-preserving, aggregate analytics to understand general platform traffic, popular app categories, and discoverability trends without identifying individual visitors.
  • Third-party and external apps. Appdrop links to, embeds, or indexes external web applications and creator websites. When you click out to or interact with a third-party app, that app operates under its own terms and privacy practices, which are independent of Appdrop.

4. Cookies and local storage

We use minimal cookies and local browser storage strictly for functional and operational needs:

  • Session and auth. To keep creators logged in to their dashboard and protect account security.
  • Preferences. To remember your interface settings, search filters, or display preferences across visits.
  • No ad trackers. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking pixels.

5. Children’s privacy

Appdrop is intended for a general audience aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal information to Appdrop, please contact us at hi@dangertesting.com and we will delete it promptly.

6. Data retention and deletion

We keep newsletter subscription records for as long as needed to manage your subscription. After you unsubscribe, we may retain a minimal record to respect your choice and prevent further marketing emails.

We retain creator profile information for as long as your account remains active on Appdrop. Minimal server and error logs are retained temporarily for troubleshooting and security. You can request the deletion of your account, profile, and submitted app listings at any time.

Deleting your appdrop account removes your profile, apps, creations, comments, follows, likes, uploaded media, and access to the Service that appdrop controls. We may retain limited transaction, delivery, moderation, or safety records where necessary, removing their direct appdrop account link where possible, together with a minimal record that prevents the deleted account from being restored. Any information controlled by independent third-party apps is subject to their own retention practices.

7. Your rights

Regardless of where you live, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request corrections to inaccurate profile or listing data.
  • Request the complete deletion of your account and associated data.
  • Export your account and submission data.

You can permanently delete your account directly from the Danger zone in Profile Settings. You may unsubscribe from marketing or newsletter emails at any time using the link provided in each email, or by contacting us at hi@dangertesting.com.

Unsubscribing from marketing emails does not close your Appdrop account. You may still receive necessary account, security, and service messages.

8. Security

We implement industry-standard organizational and technical measures to protect Appdrop and your information. However, no internet-based service can guarantee 100% security, and we encourage creators and visitors to maintain good security hygiene.

9. Changes to this Policy

As Appdrop grows and evolves, we may update this Privacy Policy. When updates occur, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of the page. Significant updates will be communicated through the platform or our newsletter.
